I think this book needs a review of its own. One of the best things about the novel is its style. The storytelling through movie-script and TV-script formatting is incredibly original, and it makes the reading experience more immersive and unsettling at the same time. It becomes harder to distinguish between reality and performance, which is exactly the point. Interior Chinatown is a deeply unique and powerful book that, to me, is ultimately about refusing to conform to the roles society defines for you. The way narrative transportation and imagination grip you is amazing. I would recommend everyone read this.
